#THE ABDUCTION OF ZACK BUTTERFIELD WIKIPEDIA MOVIE#
When I’m not watching a movie or at my computer I enjoy going to the gym, wearing out my Starbucks card and hanging out with my family, friends and my three dogs.
I see everything and anything and keep a close eye on the latest in movie news. My name is Perri Nemiroff and I’m a movie addict. Courtesy of her disillusioned romantic past, April adopted the mentality that “men suck” and thinks that by starting with one while he’s still young, she can shape him into the man of her dreams, hence Zack. April isn’t your typical kidnapper looking for money she’d much prefer love. No, she doesn’t lock her victim in a basement, rather a quaint bedroom designed just for him, which, minus the fingerprint scanning lock, is quite cozy. After a brief stalking session, April snatches Zack up mid-run, forcing him into her truck, taking him to her secluded home. Unfortunately, it’s those good qualities that catch the eye of former Iraq mercenary turned kidnapper, April McKenna (Brett Helsham). Zack Butterfield (TJ Plunkett) has everything going for him he’s popular, good-looking and an all-star athlete.

However, that’s not the case with The Abduction of Zack Butterfield as I feel I owe it to the industry and moviegoers alike to lay it on thick so that an atrocity such as this will never be dubbed a professional feature film ever again. While it’s a personal priority to treat every film the same, sometimes there’s just no use in trashing an indie production seeing a minimal release.

Click here to read my full review of Super 8. It’s exciting, suspenseful, heartwarming – everything I hoped it’d be and more. Without resorting to the shaky cam tactic, Abrams manages to tell the story in a way that makes you feel as though you’re in the middle of it with Joe Lamb (Joel Courtney) and his friends. However, the opposite is true and the combination of Abrams’ endlessly intriguing clues and then the impressively powerful final product manifested into an overwhelmingly enjoyable experience.
After drawing so much attention to Super 8 via its viral marketing campaign, had the film not lived up to expectations in the slightest, it would have been shot down hard. While Abrams’ methods of promotion may be fun for us, it could be detrimental to his films.
Abrams did it back in 2008 with Cloverfield and now, he’s done it again, built an incredible amount of hype around a new feature film and actually made due on it. Take a look at where my top and bottom lists stand thus far and be sure to keep an eye out for the rest of the crew’s picks as the series continues tomorrow night with Karen’s choices. Who’s ready for round two of our “Best and Worst of 2011 So Far” series? Yesterday Melissa kicked things off with some noble choices in the drama and comedy departments, but now it’s my turn and my affinity for the horror genre is as blatant as ever.
